La Bisbal d'Empordà, capital city of pottery, organizes this new format event with the intention of showcasing the art of ceramic. This first edition will revolve around the subject of 3D pottery.
Terracotta Biennal is born as an artistic cultural event with exhibitions about pottery. La Bisbal d'Empordà, capital city of pottery, organizes this new format event with the intention of showcasing the art of ceramics.
The event wants to gather together all the different aspects of pottery and their interests, it is presented as a proposition to attract gallery owners, collectors and pottery lovers. This proposal wants to become a focal point for the pottery world: a networking area to enjoy and discuss the application of pottery to other fields, like gardening, sculpting, designing or architecture, among others.
Terracotta Biennal is born with a clear projection to the future, with international cooperation and a specific objective: become a referent for southern Europe as an international pottery biennial.
This year's topic: 3D Ceramics
Terracotta Biennal's first edition will revolve around the subject of 3D ceramics.
With the intention to set future strategies for the ceramics industry, always taking into account the history of la Bisbal's pottery, and that the pottery sector does some research, updating and stays in contact with the international markets as a way to offer quality products with more added value. Because, as it so happens with other kinds of materials, nowadays, there is a wide range of methods for 3D printing.
